One client at a time, and that client is you.
By appointment only, with no walk-ins and no waiting. From the first question to the last look in the mirror, his attention stays on your hair.
After your appointment
From the chair to the hill, in time for sunset.
Phnom Krom, the sunset hill above the Tonle Sap, is five minutes up the road. Time your appointment to finish in the late afternoon and you'll be on the hill for sunset.
Sunset in Siem Reap today: 5:44 pm
The hilltop temple is inside the Angkor park, so you'll need an Angkor Pass. The rice fields at the foot of the hill are free and catch the same light.
Questions
How do I book?
Message Yanuth on WhatsApp or Telegram with a daylight photo of your hair and a line about what you'd like. He'll reply with a guide price and a time.
When can I come?
Every day, 9 am to 7 pm, by appointment only. Yanuth sees one client at a time, so message a day or two ahead and he'll offer you a time. Late-afternoon slots, to finish in time for sunset, on request.
Is Tim Wallace still involved?
No. Tim has left Siem Reap and has no part in Secret Hair Salon. Yanuth, who worked beside him for twelve years, runs the studio himself.
How much does it cost?
It depends on your hair, so there's no fixed price list. Send a photo for a guide price; the exact price is agreed at your consultation before anything starts.
Is the consultation really free?
Yes, always. It's in English, it comes before anything else starts, and if you decide not to go ahead you owe nothing.
How long will I be there?
It depends on your hair and what you'd like. Send Yanuth a photo and he'll tell you how long to allow, with your guide price.
Which hair types does Yanuth work with?
Every type: fine or thick, straight, wavy, curly or coily; natural, grey or highlighted; women and men. Fine hair, or hair tired from past colour? Send a photo and he'll tell you what's possible.
Do you cut men's hair?
Yes: short back and sides, textured tops, side parts and grey blending, with the same free consultation in English. Tell him your usual clipper grade, or show him a photo.
Can you fix colour that went wrong elsewhere?
Often, yes. Send photos first. Some hair is too damaged to colour again safely, and if yours is, Yanuth will tell you rather than risk it.
What if my English is limited?
Send photos of the look you want, use a translation app if it helps, and Yanuth will check the plan with you step by step before he begins.
How do I get back to town?
Taxis, tuk-tuks and PassApp drivers all come out to the studio, so you can call one when you're done.
Your hair, his full attention.
